Staff Spotlight-Ms. Altangla Harrison
Hello! I am Altangla Harrison and I teach 5th grade science here at Perry Harrison. This is my 25th year of teaching and I love teaching 5th graders. I live in Chapel Hill with my husband, Aaron and our four year old Maltipoo Ollie. I am an Orange County native and I graduated from Orange High School, home of the mighty Panthers, in 1989. I completed my undergraduate studies at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC the Spring of 1994. My degree is in Elementary Education and Secondary Education. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades, but fifth is my favorite! When I am not with my students I enjoy taking long walks with Ollie who loves to run into my students because they give him lots of attention and sometimes play with him. He knows exactly where the bus stop is and tries to drag me in that direction every morning! I also enjoy hanging out with my students a few times a year to watch a good movie on the weekends. This gives us the opportunity to do something fun with their families and just hang out! Lastly, I believe that every child is special and has a wonderful gift waiting to blossom and share with society!
