Proposed Playground Renovation and Improvement Plan

The 2019-2020 PTA Board is proposing an investment of $46,537.00 to update and improve the Middle Playground behind the school near the 5th Grade pods. We have sought and received input and approval from a variety of stakeholders: Principal Amy Doty, Vice Principal Dr. John Heath, Vice Principal Mr. Joash Chung, a majority of teachers at each grade level and staff, as well as a number of parents. The content of this page details all costs, contractors, and the planning process. The Board believes in complete transparency on all matters and are actively seeking your feedback and ideas for this project.
We are proposing improvements to the Middle Playground only at this time because it is the most used by PHS students and the most in need of repair. We will look to raise funds for the Bus Lot playground in the upcoming school year, if possible, and proceed from there. The design has been carefully planned and edited and represents the most return on investment, and all contractors have given us very favorable school pricing.
